Find the missing number (?).
129 : 32 :: 109 : 27 :: 289 : ?
Answer: C
The missing number is 72.
In each pair, the first number is four times the second plus 1: \(4 \times 32 + 1 = 129\) and \(4 \times 27 + 1 = 109\).
For 289: \(\frac{289 - 1}{4} = 72\), and \(4 \times 72 + 1 = 289\). 54, 96 and 28 give 217, 385 and 113.
