SNAP Exam Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
129 topics across 4 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
SNAP, the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, is run by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to the MBA programmes of its institutes. It's a computer-based test of 60 questions in 60 minutes.
One test opens 17 Symbiosis institutes across six cities (Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Noida and Bengaluru) and 29 MBA programmes.
- Three attempts, best score counts. SNAP 2026 runs on three dates and you can sit all three. A bad day costs you only the fee.
- Two fees. The SNAP test fee, and then a programme registration fee for every programme you want. Pay only the first and you won't be shortlisted anywhere.
- An ethics section. Ethics, Morality and Values is worth 10 of the 60 marks.
- No corrections. Nothing can be changed after you register.
Registration for SNAP 2026 closes on 25 November 2026. The tests are on 13, 19 and 26 December 2026, and the result comes out on 12 January 2027.

Exam Pattern
| Section | Questions | Marks per correct answer | Total marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| General English | 10 | 1 | 10 |
| Analytical and Logical Reasoning | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| Ethics, Morality and Values | 10 | 1 | 10 |
| Total | 60 | 60 |
Computer-based, 60 minutes, four options per question, no sectional timing. A wrong answer costs 25% of the marks, so 0.25.
If you sit more than one test, the higher score counts and there's no normalisation between tests. Instead Symbiosis sets the three papers to be equivalent: unique question types under each topic, the same spread across sections, and difficulty normalised across all three tests.
If an error is found in a paper, a Scrutiny Committee decides after the tests, and its decision is final. The bulletin reserves the right to change the schedule or structure, or to run the tests online, offline or both.
Syllabus
Symbiosis publishes the section structure, not a topic syllabus. Each section usually covers:
General English, 10 marks
Reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, grammar and usage, error spotting, sentence correction, para-jumbles and fill in the blanks.
Analytical and Logical Reasoning, 20 marks
Series, analogies, coding and decoding, blood relations, direction sense, seating and ordering arrangements, syllogisms, statement and assumption, statement and conclusion, critical reasoning, and visual or non-verbal reasoning including figure series and pattern completion.
Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency, 20 marks
Arithmetic (percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, mixtures and alligation, profit and loss, time and work, time speed and distance, interest), algebra, number systems, geometry and mensuration. Data interpretation on tables, bar, line and pie charts. And data sufficiency, where you judge whether the statements are enough rather than solving.
Ethics, Morality and Values, 10 marks
Ethical principles and frameworks, moral reasoning applied to situations, values in business and professional life, corporate governance and social responsibility, integrity and conflicts of interest, and short case-style questions on what a person should do.
Eligibility Criteria
A bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Any minimum percentage, subject or work experience requirement is set by each programme, and the SNAP 2026 Bulletin has a table for every one (SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIBM Bengaluru, SIBM Hyderabad, SIBM Nagpur, SIBM Noida and the rest). They're also on the site's eligibility pages.
Check before you register. Symbiosis takes no responsibility if you apply for a programme you aren't eligible for, and fees aren't refunded or transferred.
Reservation
The University's own reservation policy applies to every institute except the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, which has a separate one. There are also separate provisions for Persons with Disabilities, the Defence category and international students.
Accuracy
No changes are permitted after registration. Incorrect information or a process violation leads to disqualification and a bar from future SNAP tests, and if it's found in a later year, the disqualification applies retrospectively.
Selection Process
- SNAP: up to three attempts, best score counts.
- Programme registration: a separate step and a separate fee for each programme, paid on the SNAP site before that programme's own closing date.
- Shortlisting by the institute, on your SNAP percentile and its own criteria.
- The institute's later stages, its merit list and the admission offer.
Paying for SNAP isn't applying to a programme. Without the programme fee, your application isn't considered for that programme. A SNAP score on its own admits nobody.
Malpractice or unfair means gets you disqualified and barred from future SNAP tests, retrospectively if found later.
Salary
SNAP is an MBA entrance test, so there's no salary. What it costs:
| Fee | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SNAP test registration | ₹2,550 per test | Government taxes additional. Payable per test, so sitting all three costs three times |
| Programme registration | ₹1,000 per programme | Government taxes additional. Payable separately for each programme you want to be considered for |
Both are non-refundable and non-transferable. Three tests and four programmes come to ₹7,650 plus ₹4,000, before taxes.
Programme fees and placement reports are published by each institute for its own programmes; with 29 programmes across 17 institutes, read the one you want rather than an average. The SNAP site also lists student loan partners.
How to Apply
Everything happens on snaptest.org: registration, both fees, admit cards and results. The Secretariat warns against any other site.
- Register by 25 November 2026. An OTP goes to your mobile and email and has to be entered back.
- You get a SNAP ID and password by email and SMS. Use the SNAP ID for everything afterwards.
- Pay the SNAP test fee, ₹2,550 per test.
- Pay the programme fee for each programme, ₹1,000 each, before that programme's own deadline.
No changes are allowed after registration, so check the form first. If the confirmation email hasn't arrived within 24 hours, look in spam before assuming the payment failed.

Participating Institutes
SNAP covers the MBA programmes of the institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University): 17 institutes in Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Noida and Bengaluru, with 29 MBA programmes.
| Institute | Location |
|---|---|
| SIBM, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management | Pune |
| SCMHRD, Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development | Pune |
| SIBM Bengaluru | Bengaluru |
| SIBM Hyderabad | Hyderabad |
| SIBM Nagpur | Nagpur |
| SIBM Noida | Noida |
| SIMS, Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, and the other constituent institutes | Pune and elsewhere |
The full programme list, with each one's eligibility, is in the SNAP 2026 Bulletin. Each programme is a separate application with its own ₹1,000 fee and closing date. SIMS has its own reservation policy.
Exam Centres
SNAP 2026 is a computer-based test. The list of cities is on the Test Cities page, and your centre is on the admit card.
| Test | Date | Day |
|---|---|---|
| SNAP 01 | 13 December 2026 | Sunday |
| SNAP 02 | 19 December 2026 | Saturday |
| SNAP 03 | 26 December 2026 | Saturday |
Timings appear only on the admit card. Since difficulty is normalised across the three papers, no date is easier; sitting more than one is insurance against a bad day. Bring the printed admit card and the ID it specifies, and read the bulletin's test-day guidelines first.
Important Dates
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Registration and payment close | 25 November 2026, Wednesday |
| Admit card live, SNAP 01 | 7 December 2026, Monday |
| Admit card live, SNAP 02 | 11 December 2026, Friday |
| Admit card live, SNAP 03 | 18 December 2026, Friday |
| SNAP 01 | 13 December 2026, Sunday |
| SNAP 02 | 19 December 2026, Saturday |
| SNAP 03 | 26 December 2026, Saturday |
| Result announced | 12 January 2027, Tuesday |
Each programme also has its own deadline for its ₹1,000 fee, separate from the SNAP registration deadline. After the result, shortlisting, interviews and offers run on each institute's own timetable.
Admit Card
Download and print the admit card from snaptest.org, logging in with your SNAP ID. Nothing is posted. There's one per test, each with its own centre and timing:
| Test | Test date | Admit card available from |
|---|---|---|
| SNAP 01 | 13 December 2026 | 7 December 2026 |
| SNAP 02 | 19 December 2026 | 11 December 2026 |
| SNAP 03 | 26 December 2026 | 18 December 2026 |
Section 2 of the bulletin has the admit card instructions and test-day guidelines.
Result
Results for all three tests come out on 12 January 2027 as a percentile, using your best score. Institutes shortlist on it with their own criteria, then run their own later stages and make the offers.
You're only considered for programmes whose registration fee you paid, whatever your percentile.
Cut Off
There's no SNAP cut-off. Symbiosis publishes no qualifying mark; SNAP gives a percentile and each of the 17 institutes sets its own shortlisting criteria for each of its 29 programmes, changing every year.
Shortlisting criteria are published on each institute's admission pages. A percentile quoted without the institute, programme and year doesn't tell you much.
Preparation Tips
Get the fees right first
Pay the SNAP test fee and the ₹1,000 programme fee for every programme you want, each before its own deadline. Check each programme's eligibility before paying, since nothing is refunded.
Prepare Ethics, Morality and Values on purpose
It's a sixth of the paper and no other major MBA test has it, so generic aptitude books don't cover it. Practise case-style questions on professional ethics, corporate governance and moral reasoning. It asks for judgement, not recall.
One minute a question
No sectional timing, but no slack either. Practise the whole hour end to end, and practise deciding fast what to skip.
Spend most time on reasoning and quant
They carry 40 of the 60 marks. Practise data sufficiency separately from data interpretation.
Guess carefully
A quarter mark off for a wrong answer means a blind guess between four options loses on average. Guess once you've ruled out an option or two.
Take the official mock
The mock test on the SNAP site uses the real interface and logs in with your SNAP ID. Take it more than once.
Sit more than one test if you can
The best score counts and no date is easier, so a second or third sitting is insurance.
Sample Papers
No previous year papers are available for SNAP; Symbiosis doesn't publish them. It does run a free mock test on the real interface, open to registered candidates, who log in with their SNAP ID. The section structure is in the SNAP 2026 Bulletin.
