ESIC MTS Eligibility, Important Dates and Practice Questions
152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
ESIC MTS means a Multi Tasking Staff post in the Employees' State Insurance Corporation. ESIC doesn't hold an MTS exam and doesn't publish an MTS notification. MTS posts across central government are filled through the Staff Selection Commission's Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination, a scheduled exam in SSC's own calendar on ssc.gov.in.
ESIC's Recruitments page (esic.gov.in/recruitments), read on 11 September 2026, had only medical, teaching and contract items on it, plus 25 positions in its ICT Project Management Unit. No MTS notice.
So if you want MTS in ESIC, the document to read is SSC's current MTS notice, and in particular the list of participating ministries, departments and organisations that comes with it. That list tells you whether ESIC posts are on offer that year.
"ESIC MTS" vacancy counts, patterns and cut-offs on other sites don't come from ESIC.

ESIC MTS Details
Eligibility Criteria
ESIC publishes no MTS eligibility. Age limit, qualification, fee, reservation and relaxations are in SSC's MTS notice for the year, with the date your age is counted on.
After selection the appointing office is ESIC. It has shown, for a Group 'C' post filled through AIIMS CRE-2025, that a selected candidate who declines by e-mail loses the candidature, and that no further communication in this regard will be entertained (ESIC notice, 09-09-2026).
Selection Process
ESIC holds no prelims, mains, skill test or interview for MTS. Selection is whatever SSC's MTS notice sets out for the year, and the Commission allots successful candidates to the participating departments.
ESIC's own role begins after that: it appoints the candidate SSC sends and handles joining, cancellation and posting. Its own recruiting is for Senior Residents, faculty, tutors, contractual doctors, project staff and empanelment, mostly by walk-in interview.
Participating Institutes
Multi Tasking Staff is the central government's Group 'C' non-technical support grade: keeping records, moving dak, office upkeep and general help. In ESIC it would sit in the Corporation's offices, dispensaries and hospitals.
ESIC itself is a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, set up under the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948. It runs the ESI scheme and its own hospital network, with Regional and Sub-Regional Offices across the states.
The Staff Selection Commission runs the exam. ESIC is one of many possible employers on its participating list.
Important Dates
ESIC has no MTS dates of its own. The application window, exam dates and results all come from SSC's MTS notice, which appears in the Commission's published calendar on ssc.gov.in.
Joining letters, corrigenda and cancellations after selection go up on ESIC's Recruitments page (esic.gov.in/recruitments), updated daily.
Preparation Tips
Prepare for SSC MTS, not an "ESIC MTS" exam.
- Read SSC's current MTS notice. Eligibility, age, fee, scheme, syllabus and centres are all there.
- Check the participating departments list to see whether ESIC posts are on offer.
- Prepare the four areas the SSC MTS paper is built on: numerical and mathematical ability, reasoning and problem solving, general awareness, and English comprehension. Marks, timing and negative marking change between cycles, so take them from the current notice.
- For an ESIC posting, read up on the ESI Act, 1948 and the benefits ESIC pays. It doubles as general awareness.
