CoCubes Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Important Dates
129 topics across 4 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
CoCubes is an employability assessment run by Aon, whose Assessment Solutions group also owns the cut-e brand. Aon calls it "a scientifically designed employability assessment administered nationwide to final year engineering and MBA candidates in a proctored environment." You sit it, get a score and a report, and companies use the score to shortlist.
It's not a government exam: no notification, no vacancies, no merit list. Aon says it runs over 1 million assessments a year for 750 or more corporate clients, with 30 or more domain tests and ten years or more of experience in entry to mid-level hiring. The candidate page claims 400+ hiring companies, an average package of 4 LPA, a highest of 40 LPA, and 30,000+ offers.
There are two tracks. Engineering (B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech) includes a 45-minute coding module; MBA (MBA, BBA, BMS, BBM) includes a 15-minute Excel and PowerPoint block. Companies shortlist on sectional scores as well as the total, so a weak section can sink a good overall score. You sit it at a test centre and can retake it as often as you pay for a slot.

Syllabus
The full syllabus is the Topics column in the tables under Exam Pattern, from Aon's CoCubes Syllabus and Pattern.
- Aptitude is school-level maths and standard verbal ability on both tracks.
- Computer Fundamentals (engineering) is general IT literacy, not programming: pseudocode, email, basic databases, hardware and software, networks.
- Domain is one branch: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science or Chemical; or for MBA, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Human Resource, IT Fundamentals or Operations.
- Coding accepts C, C++, C#, Java or Python. Three problems in 45 minutes is fifteen minutes each, so expect practical problems rather than competitive programming.
- Excel and PowerPoint (MBA) names its functions: Average, Sum, Round, Sumif, Countif, Sumproduct, Concatenation, Index Match, Len, Trim, Vlookup and Hlookup, pivot tables, charts and macros, and PowerPoint layouts, templates, embedding and SmartArt.
Eligibility Criteria
There are no eligibility rules for sitting the test. Aon aims it at final-year engineering and MBA students, and the track follows your degree.
Each company sets its own job criteria. Aon's CoCubes FAQ lists four things shortlisting depends on: your overall score, your sectional score against that company's cut-off, basic eligibility such as 60 per cent throughout, and any preference for a branch, region or skill.
Aon's rules for companies posting jobs:
| Batch | Minimum salary for a posting |
|---|---|
| Passed-out batch, engineering or MBA | 2.4 LPA |
| Current final year, engineering or MBA | 1.8 LPA in East India, 2 LPA elsewhere |
Aon strongly discourages bonds, won't post a job that asks for original documents or for money, and doesn't post jobs beyond one passed-out batch.
Selection Process
- Register and book a paid slot on cocubes.com or the CoCubes app, by location and time.
- Sit the test at a proctored centre. ID is checked against a government ID, "very similar to those at airports," says Aon.
- Get your report within two days.
- Apply to job posts on the platform.
- The company's own rounds, including interviews.
Once you apply for a job you can't cancel, and missing more than two applied opportunities can get you barred from future interviews. You can reschedule the test up to three days before. Retakes are unlimited if you pay for each, and your best score in each section across two attempts is what counts.
Salary
CoCubes isn't an employer; pay is set by the company that hires you. Aon's figures: average package 4 LPA, highest 40 LPA, 30,000+ offers. Its posting minimums are 2.4 LPA for passed-out candidates and 1.8 or 2 LPA for final-year students (see Eligibility).
Aon's student offering page also claims, for students who have taken CoCubes, that a score above 600 raises the chance of an offer by 50 per cent and opens 50 or more jobs above 5 LPA, and that a domain score over 50 per cent can raise the salary range by up to 30 per cent. That's Aon's own marketing.
How to Apply
Register on cocubes.com or the CoCubes app (Android and iOS), then book a slot by location and time. Each slot is paid for; Aon doesn't publish the price. Generate your hall ticket from the account under Job Posts.
Academic details are edited in the Resume section and approved by your college's Training and Placement cell. For personal details (name, gender, mobile, email, hometown), write to Aon's India support address with your CoCubes ID; Aon says it updates them within 12 hours. Wrong marks or department often block job applications, and a Why link under each job explains any block.
Participating Institutes
Aon runs CoCubes through Aon's Assessment Solutions (assessment.aon.com), which covers the cut-e and CoCubes brands and says it runs 30 million assessments a year in 90 countries and 40 languages. CoCubes is its India campus-hiring brand.
Companies using the score: 750 or more per the syllabus document, 400 or more per the student page. You see actual companies as job posts in your account. Colleges buy CoCubes too, and get a full Excel report on every student; see the institute offering page.
Exam Centres
CoCubes is taken at a proctored test centre; Aon offers no at-home option. You choose location and time from what's available when booking. The venue is sent two days before by SMS and email. Bring your hall ticket and a government ID that matches your registration. If the venue doesn't arrive, contact Aon's India support with your CoCubes ID.
Important Dates
CoCubes has no annual calendar. You book a slot whenever one's available on cocubes.com; you can reschedule up to three days before, the venue arrives two days before, and the report two days after. Since Aon only posts jobs for final-year students and one passed-out batch, sit it in your final year.
Admit Card
CoCubes calls it a hall ticket, and you generate it yourself: log in, open Job Posts, go to the relevant job post and click Generate Hall Ticket. It's tied to a job post. The venue comes separately by SMS and email two days before. Carry the hall ticket and a matching government ID.
Result
There's no merit list. Within two days you get a report by email and on your profile, with your CoCubes Score, percentile (against institute, regional and national toppers), job-role suitability, a job health card, a personality profile and competency results. Your college gets a copy. See the sample candidate report and sample institute report.
Aon matches candidates to jobs with a weighted "Job-Fitness Mapping Algorithm"; each company sets its own weights.
Cut Off
There's no single cut-off; each company sets its own, overall and by section. Aon's guidance on its CoCubes FAQ: 60 per cent in each section is acceptable, and an overall score of 550 or above is good. Its student page treats above 600 as strong. An IT product role, Aon says, will require a medium to high coding score but may not need a high Written English score, so work on the sections your target roles need.
Preparation Tips
Start with Aon's CoCubes Syllabus and Pattern. It gives the time and item count for every section.
Engineers: put the most work into coding. It's the longest module and the one IT product roles require. Get fluent in one language.
Aptitude is about pace. A minute a question on school-level topics, so practise against the clock.
Don't skip Computer Fundamentals. It's quick to prepare and counts as a section.
Practise the Written English Test. Twenty-five minutes on a general topic (Aon's example: Should schools have uniforms), marked on grammar, construction, vocabulary, relevance and word limit. Stick to the topic and the length.
Answer the psychometric section consistently. It feeds the job-role mapping.
MBA students: learn the listed Excel functions. It's the most predictable block there is.
Retake if a section is weak. Only your best per section counts. And fix your profile marks before you need to apply.
Sample Papers
No sample papers or previous year papers are available for CoCubes. Aon doesn't release them, and question sets circulating online aren't from Aon.
Aon's free CoCubes Syllabus and Pattern lists every module with its timing and topics, and the sample candidate report shows what you'll be measured on.
