Infant mortality rate is difined as :
Answer: A
Infant mortality rate is the number of babies dying in the first year of life per 1000 live births.
It counts deaths of infants under one year of age in a year for every 1,000 live births in the same year, and is one of the most sensitive indicators of a population's health and living conditions.
Deaths before one month (28 days) per 1,000 live births give the neonatal mortality rate. Deaths between ages 1 and 4 are measured by the child mortality rate, and '1 to 2 years' is not a standard indicator.
