Which of the following will lead to reduction in greenhouse gases in atmosphere ?
Answer: A
Increased chemical weathering of rocks lowers greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Weathering of silicate rocks consumes atmospheric carbon dioxide, which is carried to the sea as bicarbonate, so more weathering draws carbon dioxide down.
Volcanic eruptions add carbon dioxide. A lower mean sea level exposes more land and does not by itself take up the gas. Greater melting of glacial ice is a result of warming and does not draw down greenhouse gases. The answer is option A.
