Which CPU scheduling algorithm may cause a low-priority process to starve indefinitely ?
Answer: C
Correct answer: Priority scheduling
Under strict priority scheduling a steady stream of higher-priority arrivals can keep a low-priority process waiting forever. Ageing, which gradually raises the priority of a waiting process, is the usual remedy. Shortest Job First can starve long jobs for the same reason.
