Al-Anon is an organisation for the family members of alcoholics.
Al-Anon Family Groups is a fellowship of relatives and friends of problem drinkers, who share their experience in order to cope with the effects of the drinking. It works alongside Alcoholics Anonymous, which is for the drinkers themselves.
It is therefore not for alcoholics themselves, who go to Alcoholics Anonymous. It is also not for drug addicts or fellow drug users, who have Narcotics Anonymous.
