In the year 2010 how many offences under the special and local laws were registered by the police ?
Answer: C
About 45 to 50 lakh offences under the special and local laws were registered by the police in 2010.
The NCRB's Crime in India for 2010 recorded some 22 lakh cognizable offences under the Indian Penal Code and about 45 lakh under the special and local laws, so the SLL crimes were a little over 45 lakh.
The ranges of 35 to 40 lakh and 40 to 45 lakh are too low, and more than 50 lakh is too high.
