Which one of the following is related to Tribal Economy ?
Answer: D
Shifting cultivation is related to the tribal economy: tribes of the north-east, such as the Nagas (jhum), and of Central India practise it, clearing and burning a patch of forest, growing crops for a few years and then moving on.
Intensive cultivation belongs to densely settled agricultural regions, footloose industry is a modern industrial concept without a tie to raw materials, and mining and quarrying are extractive industries of the modern economy. Hence shifting cultivation is the one linked with tribal economy.
