DWCRA stands for Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas.
DWCRA was launched in 1982-83 as a sub-scheme of the Integrated Rural Development Programme. It organised poor rural women into groups for income-generating activities and improved the welfare of their children. It was merged into the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana in 1999.
The other expansions swap 'Children' for 'Communication' or invent 'Demand' and 'Direction of Work'; none is the scheme's name.
