The main campus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research is in Mumbai.
TIFR was founded in 1945 by Homi J. Bhabha with the support of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, and its main campus is at Navy Nagar, Colaba, in Mumbai. It is a deemed university under the Department of Atomic Energy.
Bangalore is the trap: TIFR's National Centre for Biological Sciences and its International Centre for Theoretical Sciences are there, but they are centres of the institute, not its main campus. TIFR has no main campus in Delhi or Kolkata.
