Who among the following was a strong supporter of Ritter's teleological ideas ?
Answer: A
Guyot was a strong supporter of Ritter's teleological ideas. Arnold Guyot, a Swiss-American geographer, was a student of Ritter and carried his belief that the earth is a designed home for man to America.
Peschel, Gerland and Ratzel were German geographers who moved away from the teleological approach, in particular Ratzel who stressed the influence of the environment on man.
Ritter saw the earth as the home of man, designed for his education, and the contrast between this belief and the later environmental determinism of Ratzel marks a change in the history of geographic thought.
