The Shiwalik range is primarily composed of which type of material ?
Answer: C
The Shiwaliks are composed mainly of Unconsolidated sediments.
The Shiwalik (outer Himalayan) ranges are formed of sands, silts, clays, gravels and boulders brought down by rivers from the rising Himalaya and later uplifted; these are poorly consolidated, which is why the Shiwaliks erode easily and suffer landslides.
They are not built of igneous or metamorphic rocks, which form the higher Himalayan ranges, nor of hard, consolidated rock.
