Name the country from where the Global War on Terror (GWOT) was started after 9/11 ?

The Global War on Terror began from Afghanistan. After the 11 September 2001 attacks the United States and its allies attacked the Taliban regime and al-Qaeda bases there in October 2001, which is taken as the start of the campaign.
Pakistan became an important partner in the campaign but was not where it started. Syria and Lebanon were not the places where military operations were first launched in response to 9/11.
