Who was the winner of new Rupee symbol contest ?
Answer: D
D. Udaya Kumar won the contest.
A post-graduate of IIT Bombay and then a faculty member at IIT Guwahati, he submitted the winning design out of more than 3,000 entries. His symbol combines the Devanagari ra and the Roman R, with two horizontal strokes at the top.
