Answer: A
John Cage worked with Merce Cunningham.
The composer John Cage was the partner and music director of the choreographer Merce Cunningham for about fifty years, and their joint work shaped chance procedures in modern dance, in which sound and movement are made independently.
Pina Bausch, Alexander Cartier and Alvin Ailey are other names in dance, but the long Cage association was with Cunningham. Cage and Cunningham first worked together in the 1940s, and the pair is a standard example in the history of twentieth-century dance.
