When two combatants are so different in their characters, and in their areas of comparative strategic advantage, that a confrontation between them comes to turn one side's ability to force, the other side to fight on their own terms. Name the type of war ?
Answer: B
A war between combatants so unlike in character and in areas of strategic advantage that one side is forced to fight on the other's terms is an asymmetric war. The weaker side avoids the stronger side's advantage and uses different means, such as guerrilla tactics.
'Unequal war' is not the recognised term for this. 'New war' refers to a post-Cold War pattern of identity-based conflict involving non-state actors, and 'post-Westphalian war' to war beyond the state-centred system. The description in the question is the standard definition of asymmetric war.
