The unit of power is ......................
Answer: A
The unit of power is the watt.
Power is the rate of doing work: work done divided by time. One watt is one joule per second.
\[ P = \frac{W}{t},\quad 1\ \text{W} = 1\ \text{J/s} \]
The joule is the unit of work and energy, not of the rate at which it is done, and the newton is the unit of force. In sport, power output is measured in tests such as the Margaria-Kalamen stair climb or a cycle ergometer.
