Which of the following is not a Principle of Landscaping ?
Answer: C
The answer is Colour, as the Commission's key has it.
In landscape design the basic principles are the rules of arrangement: balance, rhythm (repetition and flow), simplicity, and with them emphasis, proportion and unity. Colour belongs to the other group, the elements or materials of design, alongside line, form and texture; it is something a designer uses, not a rule of arrangement.
A caution: a few lists do name colour among the principles, which is the only reason the question is debatable. The key follows the usual split between elements and principles.
