Discussion
Which of the following statements are correct about learning of EVS?
A. Children are naturally curious to learn.
B. Children are passive recipients in learning.
C. Children need teacher for learning.
D. Children learn better in collaborative groups.
Choose the correct option.
Answer: C
The correct statements are A and D.
Children are naturally curious about the world around them (A), and EVS builds on that curiosity. They also learn better in collaborative groups (D), where they share observations, discuss and build understanding together.
Children are not passive recipients of learning (B); they construct knowledge actively. And while teachers support learning, children also learn a great deal from their surroundings, families and peers, so the claim that they need a teacher for learning (C) is not accepted.
