Find the missing number (?) in the given series :
198, 202, 211, 227, ?
Answer: B
The missing number is 252.
The differences between terms are perfect squares: 202 - 198 = 4 = \(2^{2}\), 211 - 202 = 9 = \(3^{2}\), 227 - 211 = 16 = \(4^{2}\).
The next difference is \(5^{2} = 25\), and 227 + 25 = 252. 236 adds 9 again and 245 adds 18; 275 adds 48.
