Discussion
A teacher asks herself - "How can I provide experiences that require students to classify different types of objects in the environment and analyse their classification schemes ?" Which intelligence is she trying to promote in students ?
Answer: C
She is promoting naturalistic intelligence.
In Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, the naturalist intelligence is the ability to recognise, classify and categorise objects in the natural environment, such as plants, animals, rocks or weather patterns. Classifying objects in the environment and analysing classification schemes is its defining activity.
Linguistic intelligence concerns words and language, interpersonal intelligence understanding other people, and bodily-kinaesthetic intelligence control of body movement.
