K-15 Sagarika is an SLBM, a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
Developed by DRDO, the K-15 (also called B-05) has a range of about 750 km and is carried by India's nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine INS Arihant, giving India the sea-based leg of its nuclear triad. The K-series missiles are named after Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
An SRBM is a land-based short-range missile such as Prithvi, an IRBM an intermediate-range one such as Agni-II, and an ICBM an intercontinental one such as Agni-V; none of these is launched from a submarine.
