Select the grammatically correct sentence:
1. She insisted on me to stay there.
2. She insisted on me staying there.
3. She insisted on my staying there.
4. She insisted in my staying there.
Answer: C
It is sentence 3.
Insist on takes a gerund, and the person doing the action is marked by a possessive - insisted on my staying. The object form me is common in speech but the possessive is the careful form.
