After Qutbuddin Aibak's death, who among the following asserted independence in Sindh ?
Answer: D
Independence in Sindh was asserted by Qubacha.
Nasiruddin Qubacha, one of Muhammad Ghori's Turkish slave officers and Aibak's son-in-law, governed Multan and Sindh. After Aibak's death in 1210 he made himself independent there and rivalled Iltutmish until Iltutmish defeated him in 1228, when he drowned in the Indus.
Bakhtiyar Khilji conquered Bihar and Bengal and died before Aibak. Ali Mardan made himself independent in Bengal, and Jalaluddin Mangbarni, the Khwarazmian prince, fled into the Punjab from the Mongols; neither ruled Sindh as an independent sultan after Aibak.
