The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act in India was passed in which year ?
Answer: D
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act was passed in 2016.
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, replaced the Persons with Disabilities Act of 1995 and gave effect to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which India ratified in 2007. It raised the number of recognised disabilities from 7 to 21 and raised reservation in government jobs from 3 to 4 per cent.
2007 is the year of India's ratification of the convention, not of the Act, and 2011 and 2013 fall during the drafting of the bill.
