Which quantity does dew contribute in arid regions?
Answer: B
In coastal deserts such as the Namib, dew and fog drip supply enough water for specialised plants and beetles to survive, though the amounts are small compared with rainfall in most regions. Condensation releases rather than absorbs latent heat, warming the surface slightly and slowing further cooling. The ecological importance far exceeds the hydrological quantity. Naming the cost of a choice alongside its benefit is what turns a fact into a design decision.
