Which advantage does the chilled mirror method have?
Answer: D
The measurement reduces to a temperature reading at the moment condensation appears, so the accuracy depends on the thermometer rather than on any humidity standard. That makes it the reference against which other hygrometers are calibrated. Its disadvantages are cost, slow response and the need for active cooling and periodic mirror cleaning. A limit that survives making every external component ideal is an intrinsic one, and worth knowing for that reason.
