Three hours. Tier-I is the qualifying screen, and about ten candidates per vacancy go through to this paper.
Each correct answer earns 1 mark and each wrong one costs one third of a mark. Blanks score nothing. Marking two bubbles counts as wrong.
Syllabus
The Tier-I topics are reasoning (puzzles, seating, blood relations, syllogism-style statements, inequality, series, directions, Venn diagrams), basic arithmetic (ratio, time and work, profit and loss, ages, percentages, average, interest, mixtures, data interpretation), general knowledge with current affairs, computer basics, and English and Hindi grammar and comprehension.
Tier-II draws on child-protection law and hostel handling: the POCSO Act and Rules, prohibition of child marriage, child labour law, the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, the RTE Act, child mortality and gender ratio. The administrative part covers managing a large group of students, hostel stores, safety and segregation of boys and girls, cleanliness and record keeping.
Full topic lists are in the non-teaching syllabus PDF.
