APSSB CHSL Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
The Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSLE) is APSSB's exam for Class 12 level Group C jobs in Arunachal Pradesh government departments: Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Stockman, Fishery Demonstrator, Agriculture Field Assistant and similar posts.
The 2026 round (Advertisement No. 05/26, 9 June 2026) had 207 posts. The written exam was on 20 September 2026 and the final result came out on 14 October 2026, so nothing is open now. Close to 35,000 people applied.
The Board has advertised a CHSLE every June or July since 2023. The 2027 notice should follow the same pattern on the APSSB advertisement page.

Eligibility Criteria
Every post needs Class 12. The extras differ:
| Post | Posts in 2026 | Qualification | Age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Division Clerk | 56 | Class 12, 35 wpm typing on computer, 6-month computer diploma | 18 to 32 |
| Junior Secretariat Assistant | 3 | Class 12, 35 wpm English typing, 6-month computer diploma | 18 to 32 |
| Data Entry Operator | 7 | Class 12, 35 wpm typing, 6-month computer diploma | 18 to 32 |
| Record Keeper / Record Clerk | 4 | Class 12 and a 1-year computer diploma | 18 to 28 |
| Stockman | 89 | Class 12 Science | 18 to 35 |
| Agriculture Field Assistant (Jr) | 16 | Class 12 Science | 18 to 32 |
| Fishery Demonstrator | 15 | Class 12 Science with Biology | 18 to 35 |

| Laboratory Assistant (Veterinary) | 4 | Class 12 Science; lab technology diploma desirable | 18 to 35 |
The computer diploma must be from an institution recognised by the Arunachal Pradesh Council for Technical Education or AICTE. Two LDC posts under the Sainik Welfare directorate were for ex-servicemen with 10 years' service, age up to 40 after deduction of service. APST candidates get 5 years' age relaxation.
CHSLE 2026 had unreserved seats. Under the state's uniform eligibility notification of 26 August 2026, later APSSB advertisements ask for a Permanent Residence Certificate, an APST certificate and a tribal language, so check the 2027 notice closely.
Selection Process
Written exam, then a typing test for the three keyboard posts, then document verification. The typing test is pass or fail at 35 words a minute on computer. Merit is the written score, and each candidate is placed by that score and the post and department preferences filled in at the time of applying. Preferences are locked once submitted.
Salary
| Posts | Pay level | Basic pay |
|---|---|---|
| LDC, JSA, DEO, Record Keeper, Stockman, Agriculture Field Assistant, Laboratory Assistant | Level 4 | ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 |
| Fishery Demonstrator | Level 2 | ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 |

Cut Off
No separate cut-off list is issued. The final result shows the marks of each recommended candidate, which tells you where the line fell for each post and department.
Preparation Tips
- The Board posts each paper with its key on the previous papers page; the CHSLE 2026 paper is already there.
- If you're aiming for LDC, JSA or DEO, practise typing on a computer, not a phone, and get the computer diploma before the closing date.
- Stockman had the most seats in 2026 (89), and it only needs Class 12 Science.
- Answer everything: wrong answers cost nothing.
