CG Lab Attendant Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

Both papers had 100 objective questions, one mark each, in 2 hours. HCIV25 cut a quarter mark for each wrong answer.

HCIV25 (Higher Education)

General science, Class 9 and 10 level: work and energy, waves and sound, light (mirrors and lenses), motion and gravitation, heat, electricity and its effects, matter, chemical reactions and bonding, everyday chemicals, periodic table, ecology, atoms and molecules, acids, bases and salts, metals and non-metals, hydrocarbons, biodiversity and classification, cells and tissues, evolution, life processes, heredity and Mendel.

General studies: geography of India; Chhattisgarh history, geography, economy, forests and agriculture, administration and panchayati raj, industry and minerals; current events.

PSLA26 (Environment Board)

Science is at Class 11 and 12 level. Chemistry: solutions and colligative properties, ionic equilibrium and pH, polymers, gaseous state, atomic structure and bonding. Physics: units and kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy, gravitation, elasticity, thermodynamics, oscillations and waves, current electricity, magnetism and induction. Botany: plant tissues, five-kingdom classification, osmosis, transpiration, photosynthesis, respiration. Zoology: circulation, common diseases, skeleton, reproduction, digestion. General studies: India and Chhattisgarh history, geography, polity, economy, culture, environment and current affairs.

• Local resident of Chhattisgarh.
• HCIV25: Class 12 from a recognised board. Age 18 to 40 on 1 January 2023, with five more years for SC, ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) and ten more for local women.
• PSLA26: Class 12 with science. Minimum age 18; the upper limit follows state rules.

Pay Matrix Level 3 (₹18,000 to ₹56,900) in both departments, with DA and allowances. HCIV25 appointments carry three years of probation.

Apply online on the board portal after creating a one-time profile. The detailed departmental advertisement is linked from each exam page. Chhattisgarh residents who appear get the exam fee refunded to the account they paid from. Certificates are not uploaded; the appointing department checks them later.

No new Lab Attendant paper is announced. From 2027 CGSSB plans common group-wise exams; see its calendar.

Model answers, final answers and score lists appear on the board results page. The PSLA26 result and final answer key are already up; HCIV25 has its final answer key.

• Read the syllabus of the round you are taking. The Higher Education paper was Class 10 science; the Environment Board paper went up to Class 12.
• Chhattisgarh GK is in every paper the board sets, so keep it running alongside science.

Who conducts the CG Lab Attendant exam?

The state exam board, Vyapam until 2026 and CGSSB now, on behalf of the department that has the vacancies.

Is the qualification Class 10 or 12?

Class 12 for both recent rounds. The Environment Board wanted 12th with science.

What is the pay?

Level 3, ₹18,000 to ₹56,900.
