DDA ASO Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Important Dates
152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Assistant Section Officer (ASO) is a Group B ministerial post at the Delhi Development Authority, pay level 7. DDA fills it by direct recruitment through its own Recruitment Cell, with no outside commission involved.
The only recent round was Direct Recruitment 2023 (Advertisement No. 02/2023, post code 02), which advertised 125 ASO posts. Applications ran from 3 June to 2 July 2023. The select list came out on 20 February 2025, and DDA has since drawn from the waitlist twice, on 23 February and 6 March 2026. The Direct Recruitment 2025 round, notified in September 2025, carries no ASO post.

DDA ASO Details
Exam Pattern
The 2023 recruitment ran in two stages. Stage I was an online CBT held in September and October 2023, which shortlisted candidates category by category. Stage II had a second CBT and a typing test, both on 28 September 2024. The published result gives a final score out of 390 and, separately, the computer knowledge marks out of 60 and the typing speed in words per minute.
DDA has not kept the 2023 paper structure online, so the section-wise split is not given here.
Syllabus
No syllabus is published for the ASO post now that the 2023 notification has been taken down. The Stage I papers for clerical posts in the 2025 round cover reasoning, quantitative or mathematical ability, English comprehension, general awareness and computer knowledge, and the 2023 test is likely to have been similar. Treat that as a pointer only until DDA issues a new notice.
Eligibility Criteria
The detailed 2023 notification that carried the ASO qualification and age limit is no longer on the DDA site, so none are quoted here. Read them from the next ASO advertisement before applying. What the 2023 advertisement does show is the grade: Group B, pay level 7. The standard DDA reservation and age-relaxation rules are printed in the current DR 2025 notification and are likely to look the same.
Selection Process
Selection was Stage I CBT, Stage II CBT and typing test, then document verification at DDA headquarters at Vikas Sadan, INA. The result lists a typing speed for each selected candidate. Candidates who do not turn up for verification lose their place, and the next names on the waitlist are called in.
Salary
The post is at level 7 of the 7th Pay Commission matrix, where the entry basic pay is ₹44,900 a month before allowances. DDA is a central government body, so DA and HRA follow the central scale.
How to Apply
No application window is open. When one opens, it will be on the Jobs section of dda.gov.in, with the advertisement number and last date on the DDA Latest Jobs page. Applicants need a personal email address and mobile number, since DDA sends admit cards and calls only to those.

Result
The 2023 round produced a provisional select list on 20 February 2025, with scores, category and typing speed against each roll number. The top-ranked candidate scored 370.441 out of 390. DDA withheld a few results for administrative reasons and posts those separately. Results and waitlist notices are on the Latest Jobs page under Direct Recruitment 2023.
Cut Off
Stage I cut-off marks, 2023 round, as DDA published them on 20 March 2024. 2,601 candidates were shortlisted for Stage II.
| Category | UR | EWS | SC | ST | OBC |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stage I cut-off | 174.825 | 167.307 | 156.645 | 150.708 | 163.089 |
The full table, including the PwD categories, is in the cut-off notice. DDA publishes no final cut-off separately, but the select list shows every selected candidate's score.
Preparation Tips
With no notice out, there is no fixed paper to prepare for. Candidates who plan to apply for clerical posts at DDA do best by keeping computer skills and English typing in practice, because the 2023 round ended with a typing speed check and computer knowledge marks were reported separately.
