ISRO Draughtsman Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Important Dates

A written test or CBT of 80 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes, with minus 0.33 for each wrong answer. The pass mark is 32 out of 80, or 24 for a reserved post. Next comes a skill test for 100 marks that you must pass with 50 (40 for a reserved post), though the score isn't used for ranking.

The syllabus for both is the ITI draughtsman curriculum of your trade.

• SSLC/SSC pass.
• ITI with NTC or NAC from NCVT in the Draughtsman (Civil) or Draughtsman (Mechanical) trade, matching the post.
• Age 18 to 35 on the last date for applications. SC, ST and OBC relaxations (5, 5 and 3 years) only against posts reserved for them; other relaxations as per Government orders.

Five candidates per post, at least ten, go from the written test to the skill test. Among those who pass, the written test marks decide the order. ITI marks break ties, and at ISTRAC a candidate with an NAC is preferred if the tie remains.

Level 3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100) plus DA and allowances, NPS or UPS pension, and the usual Central Government benefits.

LPSC describes the job as preparing drawings, fluid schematics, sketches and bills of materials to the prescribed drawing standards.

LPSC holds both tests in Thiruvananthapuram. ISTRAC's CBT can be in Bengaluru or other cities, with the skill test in Bengaluru.

ISTRAC: applications 27 June to 20 July 2026, CBT on 25 September 2026, answer key objections until 4 October. LPSC: applications 18 August to 4 September 2026, written test date not announced by 16 October 2026.
