JKSSB Class 4 Details
Exam Pattern
The 2026 notice says the paper is objective, in English, with a quarter mark off for each wrong answer, and that the syllabus will be notified separately. For the 2020 round the paper was 100 marks in two hours: Basic Mathematics 20, Basic Reasoning 20, Basic English 20, General Awareness and Science 40. Treat that as a guide until the new syllabus is out.
Eligibility Criteria
| Post | Minimum | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Class-IV (MTS) | Matric | 10+2 |

Selection Process
An objective written test with negative marking of one quarter per wrong answer, followed by document verification. Your merit score is the written mark scaled to the cadre plus weightage points under S.O. 184 of 2020:
| Component | UT cadre | Divisional cadre | District cadre |
|---|---|---|---|
| Written test | 85 | 80 | 75 |
| Candidate of the home division or district | – | 5 | 10 |
| No family member in government service | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Widow, divorced or judicially separated woman, orphan girl | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Casual worker for five years or more | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 100 |
"Family" means spouse, parents, brothers and sisters only. Each claim needs its certificate at document verification. Cadres and departments are then allotted by merit and the preferences you give.
