152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
OSSC's Combined Higher Secondary Level exam fills Group-C specialist posts that ask only for +2. It is not an all-purpose clerical exam like the central SSC CHSL: each round lists a few posts, and the 2025 round (Advt. No. 728/OSSC, dated 2 March 2026) lists three, with 124 vacancies in all.

OSSC CHSL Details
Exam Pattern
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| Preliminary | One paper, 150 marks, MCQ, 0.25 negative mark. Five times the vacancies, category wise, are shortlisted. |
| Main written | A technical paper for the post, 200 marks. Twice the vacancies are called for document verification. |
| Certificate verification | Originals checked. Absence means the candidate is dropped. |
Both papers are in Odia and English. The OMR or CBRE mode is decided later.
Eligibility Criteria
- Amin: +2 in Arts, Science or Commerce, with a computer skills certificate from a recognised institution.
- Junior Fisheries Technical Assistant: +2 Vocational (Fisheries). If that is not available, +2 Science candidates are eligible. You must swim well and declare it on the form.
- Junior Forensic Attendant: +2 Science.
- Age: 21 to 42 years on 01.01.2025 for all three, with five years extra for SEBC, SC, ST and women and ten for PwD.
- Odia must be read, written and spoken. The usual Odia language certificate options apply.
Candidates with +2 Vocational (Fisheries) who apply only for the Fisheries post and upload that certificate may go straight to the Main exam without the prelim.

Group-C, Level 3, Cell 1 of the ORSP 2017 matrix, regular appointment.
How to Apply
Online through the OSSC portal only. ₹500 for candidates other than SC, ST and PwD, refunded to those who appear in the first stage. Keep the e-mail and mobile number active; admit cards are not posted.
