Rajasthan NHM Pharma Assistant Syllabus, Exam Pattern
152 topics across 5 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Rajasthan NHM Pharma Assistant is a contractual post filled by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) under the Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022, for the National Health Mission and the Rajasthan Medical Education Society.
It has no advertisement of its own. It's one of nineteen cadres in a single combined recruitment, Direct Recruitment 2025 under Advertisement No. 01/2025 of 28 January 2025, amended four times. Each cadre had its own paper and code. On the Board's site, look under the exam name NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts).
| Post | Pharma Assistant, contractual |
| Examination code | 738SE |
| Examination held | 12 June 2025 |
| Questions | 150, four options |
| Primary answer key | 21 August 2025 |
| Final answer key | 27 November 2025 |
| Final result | 19 December 2025 |
| Final result, list 02 | 9 July 2026 |
The Board no longer posts the original Advertisement No. 01/2025, only its four amendments, which don't cover this cadre. So no vacancy count, fee, age limit or qualification is given here. Everything below comes from the answer keys and result orders it does publish.
Results came in lists. The list-02 order of 9 July 2026 selected five more candidates and withdrew five earlier recommendations. A recommendation from this Board isn't an appointment, and it can be reversed.

Exam Pattern
There's no scheme document for this cadre. The answer key fixes the shape of the paper, and the Board prints its scoring formula on the result orders.
| Examination name | Contractual Pharma Assistant Direct Recruitment 2025 |
| Examination code | 738SE |
| Date | 12 June 2025 |
| Questions | 150 |
| Options | Four, A to D |
| Duration | Not published |
| Maximum marks | Not published. Selected candidates' marks in the published list run above 212. |
Scoring formula
Total Marks of a Candidate = Σ of [ (RQ × KF) − (WQ × KF) / 3 ] − (Maximum Marks × Not Attempted Questions) / (Total Number of Questions × 3)
RQ is right answers, WQ is wrong answers. KF, the Key Factor, is the maximum marks divided by the total number of questions, multiplied by the total number of questions divided by the number of valid questions. In practice:
- Questions struck out after objections don't shrink the paper; the rest are worth more.
- A wrong answer costs one third of a question's value.
- A blank costs one third too, so a blank is never better than a guess.
Leave more than ten per cent of questions with no circle darkened (fifteen on this paper) and you're declared ineligible, whatever you scored. The Female Health Worker result from the same day shows 131 candidates removed this way.
Candidates get different question sets. The Board then uploads one master paper with its own numbering and possibly reordered options; objections must use that numbering and cost ₹100 per question, taken once, closing about three days after the window opens.
Syllabus
RSSB publishes no syllabus for this post. Its Syllabus page (checked 12 September 2026) has schemes for other posts but nothing for the contractual health cadres. The answer keys tell you there were 150 questions with four options, and nothing about content.
The qualifying course is the Diploma in Pharmacy, whose curriculum belongs to the Pharmacy Council of India, and registration under the Pharmacy Act 1948 is required to practise as a pharmacist. Its standard heads, as the nearest guide (not a Board syllabus):
- Pharmaceutics: dosage forms, unit operations, sterilisation, tablets and capsules, and dispensing pharmacy
- Pharmaceutical chemistry
- Pharmacognosy: crude drugs by therapeutic class
- Biochemistry and clinical pathology
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Pharmacology and toxicology
- Pharmaceutical jurisprudence
- Drug store and business management, including inventory control
- Hospital and clinical pharmacy: drug distribution, the hospital formulary, drug information, patient counselling, drug interactions and adverse drug reactions
- Health education and community pharmacy, including the national health programmes
Some RSSB papers split marks between general subjects and the post's subject, and the Board says so when they do. For this cadre it says nothing, so don't assume a general-knowledge section.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility clause can't be quoted, because the Board no longer publishes Advertisement No. 01/2025. No qualification, age limit or fee is stated here for that reason. What the Board's other documents do establish:
- It's contractual, under the Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022 as amended. It isn't on the regular establishment and has no published pay level.
- Reservation is for Rajasthan candidates only. A reserved-category candidate from another state competes as unreserved and pays the general fee.
- Scheduled and non-scheduled areas are separate competitions. Scheduled-area posts are open only to local residents of Rajasthan's scheduled areas.
- Pharma Assistant is open to men and women.
What the merit list records about you
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| RANK | Position in the merit order |
| APPNO, ROLLNO | Application and roll number |
| NAME, FNAME, and the mother's name | Identity, with both parents named |
| DOB | Date of birth, which is also the tie-break |
| GENDER | Recorded |
| CAT | Vertical category |
| F_CAT | Female sub-category: general woman, widow or divorced |
| H_CAT | Horizontal category: disability, ex-serviceman, outstanding sportsperson |
| TSP | Whether the candidate is in the scheduled-area competition |
| NETTOT | The net total marks after the Board's formula |
| SEL_CAT | The category the candidate was finally selected against |
CAT and SEL_CAT can differ: a reserved-category candidate who scores above the unreserved cut-off is selected as unreserved and doesn't use up a reserved post.
Selection Process
One written exam, document verification, then recommendation to the National Health Mission. No interview appears in any document the Board publishes for this cadre.
- Advertisement No. 01/2025, 28 January 2025, amended on 17 February, 18 March, 1 April and 17 October 2025.
- Written examination, 12 June 2025, 150 questions, code 738SE.
- Primary answer key, 21 August 2025, then the paid objection window.
- Final answer key, 27 November 2025.
- Final result, 19 December 2025, with category-wise cut-offs.
- Document verification, then a meritwise list of those finally selected.
- Recommendation to the National Health Mission for posting.
- Further lists as places fall vacant, and withdrawals where verification fails.
On 9 July 2026, nearly seven months after the first result, list 02 selected five more candidates in the non-scheduled area and withdrew five recommendations (one non-scheduled, four scheduled), named by roll number. Vacated places are filled from further down the merit order, which is why the new selections sat at ranks 252 to 656. The 7 July list also reverted one candidate.
How to Apply
Apply online through sso.rajasthan.gov.in: open Citizen Apps (G2C), then the Recruitment Portal. You can also apply through an e-Mitra kiosk or Jan Suvidha Kendra. The original advertisement for this cadre is no longer published, so its window and closing date aren't given here; the rules below are from the Board's current advertisements.
- Complete One Time Registration first, recording your category, disability status and home state. The form offers only what you recorded at OTR.
- The fee is paid once, at OTR: ₹400 for Rajasthan OBC non-creamy layer, MBC non-creamy layer, EWS, SC and ST candidates and all Divyangjan applicants, and more for general candidates. Candidates from outside Rajasthan pay the general fee.
- Miss two exams in a financial year (RPSC, RSSB or any other state recruitment agency) and your OTR is blocked statewide, under a Personnel Department circular of 9 May 2025. Unblocking costs ₹750 the first time and ₹1,500 the second time in the same year. With nineteen cadres examined within days of each other, don't apply for papers you won't sit.
After the result, shortlisted candidates go to document verification. For the companion Female Health Worker cadre the Board asked for an online detailed application-cum-scrutiny form in a one-week window first, so watch the Press Notes and Results pages.
Participating Institutes
| Who | |
|---|---|
| Conducts the examination and recommends | Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, State Institute of Agriculture Management Premises, Durgapura, Jaipur 302018 |
| Employers | National Health Mission (NHM) and the Rajasthan Medical Education Society (RajMES) |
| Under which rules | Rajasthan Contractual Recruitment Rules 2022, as amended |
| Posting recommended to | The National Health Mission, in the case of this cadre |
NHM staffs the state's primary and community health system; RajMES runs its medical colleges. Where a cadre is shared the Board issues separate result orders for each. Pharma Assistant recommendations went to NHM.
RSSB was set up in 2014 and recommends candidates for posts with grade pay of ₹3,600 or less. It sets the paper, scores it and recommends; the mission verifies and posts, and if verification fails the Board withdraws the recommendation.
Important Dates
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| 28 January 2025 | Advertisement No. 01/2025 for contractual posts in various cadres of the National Health Mission and the Rajasthan Medical Education Society |
| 17 February 2025 | First amendment |
| 18 March 2025 | Second amendment |
| 1 April 2025 | Third amendment, with the online application date |
| 9 June 2025 | Paper for Public Health Care Nurse, Nursing Trainer, Nursing Incharge and Nursing Tutor |
| 11 June 2025 | Paper for Medical Lab Technician and Lab Technician |
| 12 June 2025 | Paper for Pharma Assistant, code 738SE, and for Female Health Worker |
| 21 August 2025 | Primary answer key for Pharma Assistant |
| 17 October 2025 | Fourth amendment to the advertisement |
| 27 November 2025 | Final answer key for Pharma Assistant |
| 19 December 2025 | Final result for Pharma Assistant, with the category-wise cut-offs |
| 7 July 2026 | Meritwise list of candidates finally selected after document verification |
| 9 July 2026 | Final result, list 02: five further selections and five recommendations withdrawn |
Expect the whole cycle to take about eighteen months. The list-02 order gives the first result's date as 19 December 2025 in one place and 19 December 2026 in two others; only 2025 fits an order dated July 2026.
Result
The final result of 19 December 2025 carried the full cut-off table for both areas, but it's no longer on the Board's Results index. The list-02 order of 9 July 2026 revised the OBC (general, non-scheduled) cut-off to 197.758 and selected five more candidates; the meritwise list of 7 July 2026 lists them:
| Rank | Category | Net total |
|---|---|---|
| 252 | SC | 212.8422 |
| 350 | OBC | 202.3289 |
| 384 | SC | 198.6176 |
| 398, reverted | OBC | 197.746 |
| 649 | SC | 166.7834 |
| 656 | SC | 164.8556 |
Results are filed under NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts). Nothing is sent to you directly.
Cut Off
The full cut-off table for Pharma Assistant was in the final result of 19 December 2025, which the Board no longer lists. The list-02 order revises one figure and says the rest stand:
| Area | Category | Cut-off in list 02 |
|---|---|---|
| Non-scheduled | OBC, general | 197.758 |
| Non-scheduled | All other categories | As published on 19 December 2025 |
| Scheduled | All categories | As published on 19 December 2025 |
- These aren't percentages. No maximum marks figure is published, and selected marks run past 212.
- Decimals matter. The Key Factor makes almost every score fractional; the reverted OBC candidate at 197.746 was twelve thousandths under the line.
- Later lists go lower. Each list reaches further down the merit order, so 197.758 is the figure after two rounds of movement, not what candidates faced in December.
Preparation Tips
- Search under the right name. Pharma Assistant sits inside NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts) on the Board's advertisement, answer key and result pages.
- Answer every question. A blank costs the same third as a wrong answer, and leaving more than ten per cent unmarked disqualifies you.
- Work from the D.Pharm curriculum. There's no Board syllabus.
- Give extra time to community pharmacy and the national health programmes, plus hospital pharmacy, drug distribution and inventory control. That's the part specific to an NHM post.
- Practise at a pace that clears 150 questions with time to transfer answers. The duration isn't published.
- Use the old keys as practice. Compare the primary and final keys: any question whose answer changed is one the Board accepted was wrong. For objections, the Board's SSO login lists Rajasthan Board and NCERT books for classes 6 to 10 as acceptable evidence.
- From outside Rajasthan? Plan against the unreserved list.
- Keep your certificates in order until NHM acts. List 02 withdrew five recommendations. And if you missed the first list, you aren't necessarily out: list 02 picked up ranks up to 656.
Sample Papers
No sample papers are published for this cadre, but the real paper is. The primary answer key (21 August 2025) and final answer key (27 November 2025) cover all 150 questions, and the master papers are on the Board's Question Paper page. New keys appear on the Answer Key page a couple of months after each exam.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who conducts Rajasthan NHM Pharma Assistant recruitment?
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, for the National Health Mission and the Rajasthan Medical Education Society. The Board sets and scores the paper and recommends; the mission verifies and appoints.
Is there a separate Pharma Assistant advertisement?
No. It's one of nineteen cadres under Advertisement No. 01/2025, filed as NHM and RajMES (Contractual Posts).
How many questions, and is there negative marking?
150 questions with four options. A wrong answer and a blank each cost a third of a question's value, so always mark an option.
What is the ten per cent rule?
Leave more than ten per cent of questions with no option darkened and you're declared ineligible.
Why do the marks have four decimal places?
The Key Factor. When questions are struck out after objections, the full maximum is spread over the valid questions that remain.
How many posts were there, and what's the qualification?
Neither can be stated, because the Board no longer publishes the original advertisement. The qualifying course for the cadre is the Diploma in Pharmacy.
What is the pay?
Not published by the Board. It's a contractual engagement under the 2022 rules, paid by the engaging authority rather than on a pay matrix level.
I wasn't in the first list. Am I out?
Not necessarily. List 02, seven months later, selected candidates at ranks up to 656.
