Rajasthan Police SI Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Eligibility
106 topics across 3 subjects. Every question carries a written explanation.
Rajasthan Police Sub Inspectors are recruited by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer, through the Sub Inspector / Platoon Commander Combined Competitive Exam for the Home (Group 1) Department. The same exam fills Sub Inspector posts in the armed police (AP) and intelligence (IB) branches and Platoon Commander posts in the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary. The Director General of Police runs the physical test.
The 2025 exam (advertisement 05/2025-26, 17 July 2025) started with 1,015 posts; 61 SI (AP) posts were added in June 2026. The written exam was on 5 and 6 April 2026, the physical test in August 2026, and interviews run through October 2026.
Separately, the state cancelled the whole 2021 SI recruitment in May 2026, and RPSC held a re-exam on 20 September 2026 for the 3,83,097 candidates who had sat both papers in 2021, under the 2021 rules.

Preparation Tips
- The Hindi paper is half the written marks. It's grammar-heavy and predictable; use it to build a lead.
- Paper II is wide, but Rajasthan history, culture and geography come up in several of its units.
- A wrong answer costs a third. Mark the fifth circle on anything you skip.
- The physical test is scored, not just passed, and its marks count toward the interview shortlist.
