Gautama Buddha renounced home at the age of 29 years.
Siddhartha Gautama left his palace at Kapilavastu at 29, an event called the Great Renunciation (Mahabhinishkramana), after seeing an old man, a sick man, a corpse and an ascetic. He attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya at 35 and died at Kushinagar at 80.
26, 27 and 28 years do not match the traditional account.
