What does the polarisation of an antenna describe?
Answer: B
Polarisation is the figure traced by the tip of the electric field vector as time passes, observed in the direction of propagation, and it may be linear, circular or elliptical. A horizontal dipole radiates a horizontally polarised wave. The direction of maximum radiation is the beam direction, current sense is a circuit matter, and the ratio of the fields is the intrinsic impedance of the medium. Matching polarisation between transmitter and receiver is as important as matching impedance.
