What is the unit of effective aperture?
Answer: B
Effective aperture is an area and so is measured in square metres, being the received power divided by the incident power density. Effective length, measured in metres, is the corresponding quantity for converting field strength to voltage; steradians measure solid angle; and decibels relative to isotropic express gain. Checking that the units of a quantity match what it is supposed to do catches most misremembered formulas before any arithmetic is attempted.
