Which of the following rocks shows dendritic drainage pattern on aerial photo ?
Answer: C
Dendritic drainage appears on both sedimentary and igneous rocks.
Dendritic, tree-like drainage develops where the bedrock offers uniform resistance to erosion in all directions, so streams branch at random with no structural control. That happens on horizontally bedded sedimentary rocks and on massive igneous rocks such as granite, as well as on unconsolidated sediments.
So it is not confined to sedimentary rocks or to igneous rocks alone, and 'neither' is wrong. What the pattern indicates is homogeneity, not a particular rock type; trellis or rectangular patterns are the ones that point to structure such as folds or joints.
