The program is run with java Listing05 - what will be the output?
public class Listing05
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
boolean flag = false;
assert flag : "flag was false";
System.out.println("end");
}
}
Answer: A
The detail message only matters if the assertion actually fails, and a disabled assertion cannot fail. Neither flag nor the message expression is evaluated, so the program simply prints end. The message form is assert Expression1 : Expression2; and both halves are skipped together.
