The program is run with java -ea Sketch95 - what will be the output?
public class Sketch95
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
int[] a = {4, 5, 6};
int[] b = a.clone();
assert a == b;
System.out.println(b[0]);
}
}
Answer: C
clone produces a new array with copied contents, so the two variables reference different objects and the identity comparison is false. The assertion throws. Asserting java.util.Arrays.equals(a, b) would pass, since the elements match.
