According to ........ law reaction time in task is linearly related to the amount of information transmitted.
Answer: B
This is the Hick-Hyman law.
Hick (1952) and Hyman (1953) showed that choice reaction time increases linearly with the amount of information to be processed, measured in bits: with N equally likely alternatives, reaction time rises with the logarithm of N.
\[ RT = a + b \log_{2} N \]
Donders devised the subtractive method of measuring mental processes from reaction times. Posner and Mitchell's letter-matching studies compared physical and name identity. 'Matters-Millers' is not a law of reaction time.
