Which value marks the dynamical tropopause on such a map?
Answer: C
The two unit surface separates tropospheric air of low potential vorticity from stratospheric air of high potential vorticity and is the conventional dynamical definition of the tropopause. Some authors use 1.5 or 3 units, so the choice is a convention rather than a physical constant. Tropospheric values are typically a few tenths of a unit rather than zero.
