Density and specific heat at constant volume are :
Answer: A
Density and specific heat are both intensive variables.
An intensive variable does not depend on the size of the system: if a system is divided in two, each half has the same value. Density is mass per unit volume, and specific heat at constant volume is heat capacity per unit mass (or per mole); both are ratios of two extensive quantities, so the amount of material cancels.
By contrast, mass, volume, internal energy and the total heat capacity \(C_{V}\) are extensive, doubling when the system is doubled. Calling specific heat extensive confuses it with heat capacity.
