State whether the following is true or false.
Loss on ignition affects the mass weighed out at the batch scale.
Answer: C
It affects only the fired mass, since the loss happens in the kiln long after weighing. Confusing the two is a common source of error in yield and costing calculations. Weighing happens before the kiln and the loss happens inside it.
