Which part of the neuron transmits the information to another neuron or muscle?
Answer: D
The terminal buttons at the ends of the axon pass information on to another neuron or to a muscle. When an impulse reaches them, they release neurotransmitter into the synapse. The myelin sheath is an insulating layer around the axon that speeds up conduction, the soma (cell body) holds the nucleus, and the dendrites receive information from other neurons instead of sending it.
The axon carries the impulse from the cell body to its far end, where it divides into small branches ending in terminal buttons that hold vesicles of neurotransmitter.
