Japanese encephalitis is not spread by tiger mosquitoes.
It is carried by Culex, breeding in rice fields, with pigs and wading birds as reservoirs. The Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus, transmits dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever.
